Seeking clarification about the recommended angle/slope of breeching between boiler & stack, as well as the standard/recommended/acceptable design for breeching & its expansion joint. I am currently installing a 75000pph water tube D-type boiler. We have a vertical stack (50ft high with a 6ft dia that tranistions to 4ft dia at the upper section) to which the boiler exhausts. Attached is a section of the drawing of what we are currently installing.

As it stands now, the breech is angled upwards to connect to the stack. The drawing also shows the design of the expansion joint - a ¼” plate that is bended and seal welded right around on the flange coming off the stack

What is the recommended practice here, something that does not violate any ASME code - what other codes would apply here? I have checked the ASME STS-1-2006 but the info on breeching is sparce.
