hello member

The main fuel in our boilers is crude oil .and that is the main probleam of burner closing .The crude oil deposite on the tip of the burner as in the attach and that cause burner spray tips to close .
the burner pressure is 20kg/cm^2 and the automizing steam pressure is 7kg/cm^2 and the crude oil temperature is 75C .we fllow perodic cleaning of the burners .
please can the expert give us usful advice to solve this probleam .

is the operating temperature too low, so the un-ignited components have the time and opportunity to condense on the tip of your injector?

A boiler such as yours should have soot blowers incorporated in the design. They may be either air or steam spray. They are activated at least once every 24 hours to clean the accumulated soot off the boiler tubes and improve heat transfer. What is the model and make of your boiler and the steam capacity.

If you have any flexability with your controls, I would recommend trying a periodic purge of the nozzles with steam only. In otherwords, turn off the oil and flow steam only through the nozzles in an attempt to keep the mushroom from forming on the tip.

You may also try moving the nozzles in relation to the diffuser... assuming you have this adjustment available.

i want to express my thank to MR gr2 vessels and MR chief ana MR lownox for the good advice .
and i want to inform mr chief that the boiler model is CE CORNER FIRING with capacity of 660t/h and the burner is retractable .also i want to ask mr chief about the crude tamperture (100C) at the inlet of burner or at the tip of the burner because also the crude oil tamperture is heated in the burner it self by automizing steam .type of buner is MJET TILTING TYPE .

The fuel temperature should be about 100 degrees C at the inlet to the burner. Please update if the foregoing advice improves your combustion.

Should have mentioned that your atomisation will improve if you increase your burner steam atomisation pressure to about 10 bar (150 psi approx).
Check your hot and cold fuel oil filters to see if the screens are damaged.
Verify your temperature and pressure gauges are reading correctly.

Is there something missing in the OP regarding the pressures of the oil and the atomizing steam? Does it say the oil pressure is 20 and the atomizing steam is 7 or does it mean that the atomizing steam is 7 kg/cm^2 higher than the oil pressure?

You should have a steam/oil differential pressure regulator that keeps the atomizing steam at a set differential above the oil pressure which should fluctuate as you vary load. The differential recommended by chief in the last post.

Also, do you have any spare oil guns? If so, periodically you can take a gun out and hang it such that the tip is down in a bucket of solvent. After the deposits are softened up, clean this tip and put this gun back in and repeat the cycle with another gun.

How is the oil heated prior to arriving at the gun?
