Boiler Water treatment

Hello All,
Are there any signifcant differences for water treatment between conventional boilers and the new condensing boilers with either stainless or aluminum heat exchangers?

We are particularly concerned about retrofit situations with years of accumularted debris. After removing debris, do we need a different water treatment schedule?
