Bolt radius considered in stack up

Hello

On a bolt there is usually a radius from the head of the bolt to the shank of the bolt. Sometimes this is compensated for by adding a chamfer to the bolt hole.

Would this be considered in the stack up. Making the hole larger if the bolt radius will interfere with the edge on the bolt hole?

If the radius is significant, you need to chamfer the hole. The hole will get chamfered anyway, since the fabricator will remove the sharp edges. A washer will place your bolt and its fillet, above the hole, solving your problem.

This is not a tolerance stack problem. The calculation of positional tolerances is based on whatever keep-out is required to clear your bolts. Your radius may be a problem.
