I wanted to reply to the following closed thread. thread790-221436 about whether holes for example should be created as an assembly feature or at the part level. My top assembly has two weldments that I want to bolt together. In each weldment I created a hole in the assembly enviroment and patterned it. This hole goes thru two steel plates in the one weldment which is why I wanted to create that hole as an assembly feature because it would be made in real life after the parts were welded. Also, some parts would become opposite hand if I did the holes at the part level. This way I can keep these parts as identical items to create the welded assembly and then have machining of the weldment. Also there are holes which are threaded thru two parts in one weldment so they would definitely need to be done at assembly level. Here is the problem with Bolted Connection. It won't give me the option to follow the pattern like it usually does. It only lets me select the hole the pattern was based on so the program seems to recognize the pattern, but Follow Pattern is greyed out. Can anyone confirm this? INV 2009
