Dear Alls,

When a spacer is used in a bolted joint, some of the reasons of using it, are as follows,
- Increase the Bolt length, getting the benefit of less bolt stiffness and more stretch and pre load.
- Better Bolt and Joint members stiffness ratios.
Are there any others reasons/benefits of using a spacer in a bolted joint. Please refer to any article/book covering the bolted joint using spacer calculations.
Thanks.
