Hello,
Can someone tell me where the AISC, RCSC, or other code addresses bolts/nuts riding the fillet of a structural steel shape. I know of AISC figure 10-3 which gives a maximum amount that angles or plates can ride the fillet. I assume that the distances given in figure 10-3 are not applicable to bolts and nuts. I would like to know if there is a code reference that explicitly states that no riding of the fillet is allowed or one that defines how much is allowed.
