BOM-2004 "Part Configuration Grouping" 1

From SW Help:
"Part Configuration Grouping -
Display as one item number. If a component has multiple configurations, all the configurations appear with the same item number. Use this option with BOM Type set to Top level only."

Playing with this option don't effect the BOM. (SW-2004 / SP-2.1), or maybe I don't understand what it should do?

I tried it and I had to set it to "Parts Only" and then back to "Top Level Only". Then it worked.
