This is not a technical post, but I think just maybe site management might forgive me for this post. In a private forum that I am not sure is visible to all, Pat Primmer's daughter has posted on Pat's account to let us know that Pat recently passed away. His funeral will be Monday March 4. He will be missed in that Forum and he will be missed in these Automotive Fora where he was a very well respected contributor.

Another colleague has posted his Funeral Announcement:

Rest well beloved colleague.

That is very sad to hear. I've only been on this forum for a short time, but I immediately could tell that Pat was one of the most helpful and informed contributors. His comments will indeed be missed. Condolences to his loved ones. Bon Voyage Pat.

I don't post here; mostly chat on another forum where Pat had been contributing for some time now. Found your thread after coming here to check on his posting history since another member had posted about his passing away, though he wasn't sure.

Farewell old friend. You've been an inspiration.

Sorry to hear.
He certainly was a major contributor here.
Smart AND funny.. Always a fun, informative read.
I too will miss his posts.

What dreadful news, I have never met Pat - in fact I know very little about the man yet, having been a member of this forum since 2001 I have 'known' him for a long while.
Very knowledgeable & wise chap who will be missed.

Thanks rmw for informing us.

Sleep well Pat & this forum just wont be the same without you!

Wow--I am shocked and saddened to hear that. From Pat's reports, it seemed that he was on track with treating his cancer.

that was all a bit sudden and shocking, wasn't it? One week it was "home, doing well, a bit sore" and the next it was "farewell."

Wasn't even aware that Pat was ill. Like mattsooty, I "knew him" without knowing him. However, if I saw his name on a post, I made sure to read it. He was a knowledgeable fellow and I enjoyed his posts, both for the content and the style.

One of my favorite all-time publicans! I'll miss him.
