If I don't use rbe for predicting the load at fastener... What about using bonded contact?

Imagine in lap shear joint, I use bonded contact at the imprint area where it supposed to be bolt shank?

There was discussion in the team that this is quick and dirty way to check the joint strength but I'm not sure...

modelling the joint as a bonded connection will give you the total load reacted, then presumably divide by the number of fasteners (assuming same fastener) for a fastener load … assuming load redistribution within the joint, which may be valid for ultimate loads, but would be invalid for fatigue loads.

Why not model the joint as common nodes. This'll still tell you the bulk load, and easier to implement ?

another day in paradise, or is paradise one day closer ?
