Bonding of two Delrin (Dupont) parts

Our parts are running in sea water (at low speed,low friction and low torque),the 2 half parts (appx.one square inch) are made of Delrin Dupont,surface are flat,we are using Loctite 495,but it's not strong enough.All suggestion are welcome.

The adhesive joining of DELRIN acetal resin is generally limited to prototype parts with low shear forces. This is because the shear strength achieved with most adhesives is only 2 to 10 percent of the available shear strength of DELRIN. The best adhesion requires a special roughening step such as "Satinizing" or you might try using 280 grit emery cloth. The Satinizing provides the best results. Contact Dupont for their Design Handbooks related to this process. If you want to try the sanded approach Dupont recommends Blue Label "Instant Weld" (a Alpha Cyanoacrylate base) adhesive which according to their handbk provides 2600psi shear strength (after 48 hours aging time).
