Hi,

I don't see any difference between the two boolean features "assemble" and "add". Is there a difference? I'm sure there is but I can't figure it out.

There are two types of features in Part Design: Positive features (Pad, Shaft, Rib, etc) that add material, and Negative feature (Pocket, Groove, Slot, Hole, etc) that remove material.

The ADD and REMOVE operations ignore the feature type and either add or remove the shape.

The ASSEMBLE operation takes the feature type into consideration and adds or removes based on the feature.

A simple example is a Pad with a Pocket (make sure the Pocket extend both into and out of the Pad. Use the "Insert in New Body" command to add the ASSEMBLE operation. Now change the ASSEMBLE to an ADD and change it to a REMOVE. You should see some differences.
