I am trying to figure out how to sweep on a radius. The path does not take up the whole circle (which is where the path is derived from, after making an offset of 0.000). This was never a problem for me on AutoDesk Inventor. I am able to do it but goes in a straight line and does not seem to utilize the radius.

Thanks,
Alan

We do this all the time unless I misunderstand what you are asking. Could you post a jpg of what you are trying to accomplish?

Remember, SolidWorks is not Inventor is not ACAD is not SolidEdge. Each has there own way of accomplishing things.

What does this mean?
I use both SolidWorks and Inventor daily - I don't understand why sweep would be any different?
Attach your Inventor and your SolidWorks file here.

Sounds like you are using the Extrude tool instead of the Sweep tool. The Sweep won't sweep if it isn't given a path to follow.

Here is a picture of the sweep, and also a picture of the profile/path. Hope this helps. For whatever reason it does not follow the radius. While looking at the path it visually appears that the path is not the same as the extruded radius. However, the path has been offset 0.000 from this.

You hadn't create the path for the Sweep to follow.

Use the Revolve tool instead. Select the Temp Axis of the part and extrude through X° or Up to Surface (Plane 5)

Those are the sketches I chose. Stranger things have happened I guess...

And thanks a lot for taking your time and helping me!
