BPE-2002 vs 3-A

Please help me understand which standard is most used in the pharmaceutical industry: 3-A or BPE-2002.

3-A was developed for fmilk and has been generally accepted by food/dairy/beverage. Yes???

BPE-2002 developed by ASME for use in the biotech industry. Yes???

What does the rest of th pharma industry use? Anyone familiar with 3-A's push to get P3-A standards in place?

I can only tell you that in my experience in pharma (final formulation and API for pharma), 3A standard is the most common widely used.

I personally have used the 2 sets of standards within my work. I find that that the BPE is most applicable for welding, piping, tank design and pumps. While the 3A standards are excellent for gasket and seal specification, heat exchangers etc.
