Hi there!
I would like to calculate the temperature developement of a brake system; this means brake pad in contact with brake disk.
I can calculate the dissipated power during the braking, as well as the convection on the disk depending on the rotation speed. However, I´m no sure about the distribution of the produced heat on the contact.
What porcentage of the heat moves to the pads and what to the disk?
As the pads have smaller surface, their temperature will increase faster. Then, the disk with a lower temperature will tend to cool the pads down while rotating. It is possible to consider this effect?
I try to make my calculations with Ansys, but the key points noted above are complicating my life.
Has someone experience on similar calculations? Or any documentation where I can find out how to simulate these effects?
