break out family table members?

I am using NX 8.5 with Teamcenter. I am creating large part family tables that define multiple instances of standard fasteners. Word from a configuration management specialist is that the new PDM system which we are migrating to does not handle family parts very well. The goal in order to avoid potential issues is to break out the family members/instances as stand-alone parts before migrating them into the PDM. Is this possible? When you create a part from the Add-in tab within the excel spreadsheet (NX), the part is created in Teamcenter but underneath the master template part in the folder "Family Members." Can I break out these parts such that they stand alone, on the same level as the original template part? Thanks.
