Is there a way to break out a single component in an assembly drawing view. Large assembly view with air and oil lines entering a housing. I want to see the piping entering the housing but don't want the clutter of the pipes in the center of the housing. The broken view breaks the entire view. Is there a way to be selective?

Sorry forgot to mention NX 6.0.5.3 64 bit on windows 7.

Edit -> View -> Section in view

You should be able to figure it out from there, but if you have questions please post them.

Can you provide at least an image of picture of what it is that you're looking for?

Here is an image. I want to cut the pipe at the red marks and eliminate the center portion of the pipe assembly to reduce the clutter in the center and allow you to see the section lines and framework in the center of the housing.

Your best bet may be a combination of View Dependent Editing and Render Sets, both of which have been discussed in other threads on this forum.

A good little trick when doing View Dependent editing is to , wait for the quick pick dialog, then select the solid body in the bottom of the list, the entire body will be erased .( or modified) - Instead of trying to pick individual edges one by one. If your pipe is composed of separate solids this trick should do it.
