Are the dimension lines supposed to break with the view?
Mine aren't and I thought they did.
I'm using 2001+ SP1.2
is there a certain order to make this work?

First, I would insert a single view of your part into the drawing, break that view and use it to get your other "broken" projected views. Your dimensions should also be broken if you are doing Insert/Model Items/Dimensions or just placing dimensions manually. "Happy the Hare at morning for she is ignorant to the Hunter's waking thoughts."

I have done a lot of broken views and don't recall my dimensions ever being broken. They show as any other dimension would. If you want to show the dimension as being across a broken view, then change the font of the dimension to underlined. This is an appropriate drafting practice.

Slight correct to my above post, the Dims are not broken as Glockheed states, but they dimension from feature to feature, with the total length of the broken part. "Happy the Hare at morning for she is ignorant to the Hunter's waking thoughts."

Some more detail.
I get the incorrect broken view/dimension only with a sweep on a 3dsketch part.
What happens is that the view breaks correctly but the dimension is left hanging out at true (scaled length)
