Hello,
Has anyone seen any data related to the in-service breakdown of liquid shim in aircraft? I've seen some papers on it, but no real life reports.

TIA

hyeh...

This is a very broad question because the answer is 'it depends'. WHAT process parameters and procedures and design elements drive the installation of shims? Inappropriate [haphazard] use of any type shims [solid metal, peel-ply-metal, paste-adhesive liquid shims or fiber-reinforced epoxy sheet, etc] can be detrimental to structure and deteriorate over time.

I'm curious...

WHAT papers have You read on this topic that 'don't relate to real life'? link?
