Good day people,

If the manufacturer does not specify, for whatever reason, do new pumps or newly refurbished pumps require a "break-in" period? If it's fixed speed, how would you do this as the pump would run flat out once its online..and..if it's variable speed, do you run it at a lower speed?

Thanks

No, just put it to work - however, you need to monitor bearing temp. etc and general running for a few hrs and ideally recheck pump / motor alignment after 40 / 50 hrs of operation.

just make sure it's properly dearated,it doesn't cavitate (for wathever reason)and bearing lubrication functions normally.

Don't forget to put up start up strainers if you are putting anything else in besides the pump to keep garbage from damaging the impeller and to recheck alignment after its been running at temperature.
