Hello Everyone,
I am working with electrical and mechanical engineers to tear down a brick wall. Because multiple equipements are attached to it, I have to tear it down in sequences for the first phase, I have to tear down 3 sections of the wall and support the rest (temporary supports, for at most a year). Can you suggest a system for lateral propping?
Thank you in advance.

Can you tell us a bit more about the existing loading on the wall and what its current function is (e.g. wind, gravity, shear wall, where are we relative to the ground)?

I wouldn't think you would need shoring at all if it's not a shear wall. The remaining sections are large enough (assuming the grey is what remains) that they'll stand on their own for gravity and if anything they'll be subject to less wind loading due to equivalized pressure. Though since it's 1 year in duration, which is not a short time for temporary works, I might be inclined to throw a w-section up at the ends where it gets demo'd.

Why do you think you need lateral support?

The wall is inside a building and only used for partition. some cables and mechanical equipments are supported on the wall.
The only reason I am considering lateral support is because although the supports are temporary the wall will be tore down in sequences over a long period of time. year 0, year 1 and year 2. I will deisgn the lateral support for 2% of it's dead load (brick wall load)
