Im having touble bending the leader lines when im ballooning my details. I can find the option for it when i right-click on the leader, but it just wants to attach another leader to that line. Is there anyway to easily jog a leader line on the fly?

Thanks,

You cannot bend or jog a regular leader.

You have to use a Multi-jog leader if you want to have a leader which is jogged or bent. The Multi-jog leader has to be added to the Annotations toolbar, it is not included as a default.

All you are doing when RMB'ing a leader is adding a Multi-jog leader. A RMB click on any area of the drawing will give the same result.

To end a Multi-jog leader you do a double click. You may end up with an arrow at each end of the leader, in which case RMB the arrow and select from the drop down menu the type of leader end you requiure.

A further comment on leaders is that you cannot convert a regular laeader to a multi-jog type, and you cannot automatically create a multi-jog balloon leader. This is a limitation in SW. [thumbsdown]

There is a workaround however. [thumbsup2]

1) Place a regular balloon where required, with its leader referencing the desired part then click the green tick.

2) LMB Click on the balloon & select More properties & in the Leader section, deselect the top-left box. This hides the regular leader but still leaves the balloon referencing the part.

3) Create a multi-jog leader starting with the part selection, then clicking where you want the leader to go & ending by clicking on an attachment point of the balloon.

The balloon can now be moved and the MJ leader will remain attached to the balloon.

The downside to this, is that the MJ leader arrow can be repostioned & attached to another part, but the balloon will still reference the part that the hidden regular leader is attached to.

Bending a leader line 'seems' like a simple task for SW to perform...I dont see what the big deal is! lol
