Hey all,
i have one query, as in BS-10 standard if u see flange thickness of any table (for e.g TABLE-D,E,F,H) i noticed that cast steel flanges have more thickness than gun metal for same flange pressure rating. but on normal comparison point of view cast steel (for e.g ASTM A216 Gr. WCB) has much higher yield & tensile strength than Bronze(for e.g BSEN 1982 Gr. CC491K).
Can anybody clear it that on what parameter or criteria BS 10 standard flange designed?
