Hi all, I would like to clarify some detailing on beam to column connection by using BS 8110.
Scenario 1,
say a beam simply suppported to a column. Should the bottom & top reinforcement be 12D at column centreline will be sufficient? < if yes, is the detailing applicable the same to r.c wall as well?
Scenario 2,
say a beam simply suppported to a column, do we use tension anchorage length for bottom and compression anchorage length on top reinforcement? both of the anchorage length start to count at column/wall face?
What if the column is designed to be pinned? or fixed? any changes to the condition above?
Please enlighten me on the both queries
