IS THERE A FORMULA FOR CALCULATING HOW MANY BTUS A UNITS IS PUTTING OUT?

Multiply the output of the unit in tons by 12,000 to convert to BTU output

Sensible Heat Btu/hr = CFM x 1.1 x (t2 - t1)
Latent Heat Btu/hr = CFM x 4840 x (w2 - w1)
Total Heat = Sens Heat + Latent Heat

or Total Heat Btu/hr = CFM x 4.5 x (h2 - h1)

Where:
t = dry bulb temperature °F
w = lb water/lb dry air humidity
h = enthalphy Btu/lb
1 = entering condition
2 = leaving condition

You have to be familiar with the psychrometric chart to know and visualize the state points of air and processes.
