I am currently doing a revision to a De Havilland Canada Report containing a diagonal tension analysis on a wing skin made from 2014-T6 Alclad, in order to increase the range of areas that it covers. The report uses the NACA-TN-2661 approach varied by reference to the Grumman stress manual (circa 1959 ). Grumman of course used lots of 2014 in their designs. Whist I have the NACA-TN and the DHC report, the availability of plasticity correction data for the elastic Fso (shear )for 2014-T6 is proving to be problematical.
I do have a series of Fso(el) versus Fso(pl) values for 2014T6 in the existing reports but it entails me generating the original curve from a series of data points accurate (perhaps, if I am very lucky ) to the nearest 100 psi.
I would like to attempt to get some feed-back from my peers prior to going down that path to see if anyone has access to anything of use. Is anything available out there?
Perhaps there is an ex Grumman / Gulfstream fellow with a suggestion.
Thanks
