Hello!

I am trying to calculate a steel structure using the Finnish standard B7. In my calculations I need the lower chord of the roof trusses to be designed based on an unbraced length of 14m on Y direction, and on the member length on Z direction. Is it possible to define these lengths? I tried to use the LY, LZ parameters but the message that I get is "Steel design parameter is not supported with NS 3472 code" ... And btw, the NS3472 code is a Norwegian steel design code, and I have no idea why it appears in my calculations ...

Thank you very much,

Cris

It sounds like you have the Steel Code set to the Norwegian standard. In that code, the program uses the simpler UNL parameter for member unbraced length, and BY, BZ, CY and CZ as needed. If you change the code to Euroocde 3 then you should be able to use LY and LZ.
