Buckstay attachment - Steam Power Plant Boiler

I am a Structural person and the plant has requested to extend an existing platform by the boiler. The platform was built 1960's and seems is being supported in 3 legs at each corner and the fourth corner is attached to the buckstay.

I don't know if it is a common practice to attach it to buckstay or by the boiler experts this is prohibited?
I appreciate if anyone has dealt with this type of issues direct me.

I have not personally dealt with this issue before. I do find it odd that a platform would be rigidly attached to a buckstay.

I'm making the assumption that you're working with a boiler that's hung from the top and grows downward - is that the case?

If so, the buckstay should be moving with the boiler...the displacement won't be too much near the top of the boiler, but will increase the closer you get to the bottom.

Can you confirm that the buckstay is indeed rigidly attached to the platform and not simply resting against it? Does the connection utilize slotted holes or some design to allow some movement of the buckstay?

Photos would be helpful to better understand what you're dealing with.

Are you sure about the attachment at a boiler wall buckstay? You do know large, vertical power boilers grow downward in service, which means anything attached to the sidewalls will move with the boiler.
