The taller a building, the more flexible it is and longer period.
The shorter a building, the less flexible or more stiff it is and shorter period.
The more mass a building has the longer period.
The less mass a building has the shorter period.
Shorter period can attract more seismic load. Longer period can attract less seismic load.
So if you have a one or two storey building with shorter period. It can attract more seismic load. To make it longer period. You can
more mass to the 2 storey.. and "attracting" lesser seismic load.. but something is wrong here.. do you really have to add more mass to attract less seismic load?
