Hello All,

I am looking for a sample bus differential test report which I can use as a reference to perform a bus differential relay test. I would really appreciate if anyone can share a test report.

It trips for in zone faults and it doesn't trip for out of zone faults. Beyond that it's each utility looking for what it has become accustom to looking for. What do you want to know about your bus relays? What did the guy before you want to see? What did the guy before him want to see? You might have very good reasons to want something else, but you have to know what you want. If you don't have any reasons to change what you're looking for, don't change the process.

What's your driver?

David,
My post may be confusing. Basically I'm learning how to program relays and learn how to bench test them using a relay test set. Some test sets allow to create test reports as well. Since I'm learning how to test the relays, I'm looking a for a sample test report for bus differential relay test.

But there are so many options. What do you want? Why is what's been done before not sufficient? There could be many good reasons or none at all. Why doesn't the existing process work for you? Answer those and someone may be able to provide useful information, but the original question is far too broad to be meaningfully answered.

I'm looking for current bus differential test report. Not the procedure how to perform the test. A document where I can fill in numbers for set points differential current, trip time etc.
For example for overcurrent test report, the report shows the overcurrent element set-points, the test current and the trip time. I searched and was not able to find a test report for bus differential (current inputs)to create one.

Okay, there's thousands of possibilities based on what other people want to see. What do you want to see? What kind of test report would show those values? Maybe I'm being terribly obtuse, but if I want to see cases that represent proof that prior failures on my system are addressed but your system has never seen those failures do those cases mean anything? What do you want? You've never even said what type of bus differential. I can think of at least three different approaches to bus differential, which of those three are you using?

You'll get much more useful answers to narrow, targeted, questions than you will to broad brushstroke tell me everything types of questions. What, specifically, do you think your approach might be missing? What have you put together so far? This site is for applying the finishing polish, not for roughing out the initial pass.

budhiman (Electrical),

I have googled for the translation of word "budhiman". In Hindi language it means "intelligent". David is again and again telling you think and decide first what are you expecting in your question.

Are you expecting some ready made template for the test report?

In my view the relay manufacturer should be able to supply a template. It could be already available in the relay manual. Try to explore further.
