Hi everyone,
I hope someone can give me some guidance, I am currently analysing a large range of valves including various pressure classes.
I have conducted an extensive (to say the least) FEA analysis, I have considered three individual studies:
Load Case 1: Vessel pressure acting on the Disc surface,
Load Case 2: The required closing torque required to seal the component,
Load Case 3: A combination of both Load Case 1 and 2 (Vessel Pressure & Torque)
I have calculated the pressure and it seems within an acceptable region of my FEA results, I cant however find a way that i could calculate the stress on the Disc due to the closing torque delivered by the Shaft of the assembly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Ryan
