Button Head Socket Cap Screw Mil Spec # 1

Hey guys. My question is exactly what the title says. I've been searching like crazy for a mil-std spec that builds part numbers for button head socket cap screws. Anyone know it? Thanks!

If you were the military, and you really hated some failure-prone item like button head screws, would you encourage their use by standardizing them?

I would check with holo chrome and blue devil and see if they list any mil specs for their parts.

There are all sorts of MIL numbers for several types of vastly superior pan head screws with Phillips sockets.

To save cost the government has gradually stopped maintaining documents already covered by industrial standards such as by the ASTM, ANSI, and others. This may be the case here. However, if it ever existed, it would probably not be titled as a MIL standard. Generally screws, nuts, washers, pins, clips, etc. were/are covered in MS, NAS, NASM, or AN drawings (consisting of several pages with dash numbers covering every eventuality of size and finish). Sorry I couldn't find any either. You might check Federal spec FF-S-86 or ASTM F835, or just specify a commercial source. FWIW, I did find a British Standard, BS 4168, for metric button heads in Machinery's Hdbk.
