Button Mapping in NX5

I'm using a Spaceball 5000 and when I use the button map in NX it seems the functions are not working.
If however I go back to the 3D Con. panel I can map them and get them to work there.
We are working on 64 bit platform using XP PRO 64
Are there some settings to enable the button mapping tool?

There's been reports of problems with 3DConnexion drivers on 64-bit systems. I suggest that you contact either GTAC or 3DConnexions to get some idea of what is being done about this.

Also try the drivers that it probably came with, the very latest may be ahead of your device in some cases. This is according to what I have read about rather than what I can attest to first hand with 64Bit systems. We have a mix of older 4000 and 5000 spaceballs alongside spacepilots, running the latest 3d-connection drivers for spacepilots and navigators. We have also had problems with the older spaceballs on 32Bit systems. Whether we should conclude that these are hardware problems with the older units or not is debatable. However it does seem to me that we had fewer problems with the older drivers.

Just to let you know GTAC no suport for SpaceBall 5000 connexion no responce yet. Did check thier board there are mensions of this happening on the 32 bit patform but didn't see anything on the 64 bit. I did get the drivers reinstalled and that initself helped. But the button mapping addon in NX still not working but I can map through the 3D Conn. control pannel and get it to save the functions.

Well I have gotten the button mapper to work.
First I had the IT reinstall the drivers which helped. And instead of dragging the function to the buttons Which I had read some where. I right click function and assign and save plus everytime you go into button mapper make sure to click ok and not window close button following that everything and now things are working fine.
