Hello everyone.

I am supposed to design a butyl acrylate refining plant.I would like to know how to separate the butanol, water, dibutyl ether and butyl acetate from the butyl acrylate as they all form azeotropes with each other. The purity of the final product should be 99.5%.

I suggest you look at a copy of Shreve and Brink's book on processing technologies. They might have information on this process. Sorry, I don't have anything.

Hello!

I cann't tell you the exact separation scheme, but I could say that the azeotrope distillation is useful for butyl acrylate separation.(Buryl Acrylate & water in top product, Liquid-Liquid equilibrium for BA & water) I think it is simple process if there are no acrylic acid.
