There are ways around the SLC500 password that are documented on the internet. They are not straightforward and require some specific understanding of the SLC communications. That said, the best bet is to wipe the memory or download an offline copy of the program (unfortunately that is probably password protected also).

Everyone knows about the plc5 and slc password bypass is

"ABUNLOCK"

its been out there for years. Like its a deep secret

The contrologix is a different story. They actually have this under tighter wraps.

Even the siemens processors can be bypassed.

Its amazing the amount of hackers that want to bypss someone's intellectual property.

I know that AB has a standard policy if you can get a few signatures from your company stating for certain reasons they will send the file back unlocked.

OOOOoooK.

Everyone knows now! I really had never heard of it. I guess I've been under a rock for the last 20 years. I know of ways around the slc and plc5, but not quite that easy. How about the deny future access? If you set a rung with that in your program can you get around that too?

If it was secured with OEM lock there is no backdoor. Not even ABUNLOCK.
