Good afternoon Gentleman and Gentleladies

I am currently trying to make an endplate connection for C Channel in a cantilevered situation. Should one use AISC design guide 4 for these parameters? I have a small moment, 24 kip-in with about 1 kip of shear.

It seams reasonable to adapt the design principles from DG04. I don't think that DG04 explicitly covers channels however.

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.

@Leftwow,
Don't forget to account for the fact that the shear center of the channel will be behind the web of the channel, and so the forces on your endplate bolts won't be uniform, as they would for a symmetrical wide-flange beam's endplate.
