Hi all!
In the Aspen Hysys 2006, the component's characterization only has to C30, How can i add components C31-C36? can i user hypothetical component, and how?
thank you!

If you are refering to Oil Manager, C30+ are lumped under one single "cut", and the model should be tuned further by changing bulk properties such are MW, density etc. However, I don't like when my input assay is based on chromatography analyses and what I usually do is to discard these data and model my stream by changing bulk properties and relying on Hysys internal distribution curve (Whitson). One could never say how accurate results can be obtained this way.

If you are refering to the main flowsheet environment and library components slate, the answer is the same: transfer your assay characterization into Oil Manager and you will have a lot more degrees of freedom to tune the model. Straightforward fluid characterization in the main flowsheet has alway been infamous due to its inaccuracy and lack of flexibility.

Best of luck,
