Hi guys!

I'm trying to build a cable impedance database that could be used in my studies.

Does somebody know a good reference about cable impedance including various types of cables, various voltage level, etc.

Thanks!

What studies? They should be included in your software. You can also use the c values to calculate your f factor if you are doing a point to point s/c study.

Several references off hand:

1. Westinghouse Transmission and Distribution Book
2. Aluminum Electrical Conductor Handbook
3. Cooper Power Systems' Distribution System Protection
Manual. This has a good positive and zero sequence
listing of impedances.

Pirelli also has a readily available listing of pos. and zero sequence impedances.

Unfortunatly, my software database is very limited when it's not teck cables...

I seen a meter at the IEEE safety workshop that will do exactly what you are wanting... It will give cable lenghts, impedances, X/R ratios, ect.
