Cable sizing for delta configuration

This is a hypothetical question and is based on thread238-246755. There it was established that the rating (amperage wise) of a transformer secondary was meant to be interpreted as being 600A in each phase or line.

Say for a moment, that this transformer was a delta-wye, 500 kVA, and is connected to a 2400 switchgear supply breaker. If the primary is a delta configuration, can I say that the line current is SQRT 3 x 120.3A x 1.25% to properly size the cable size, disregarding for the moment other variables such as being in a duct bank or in a conduit exposed to the sun, etc?

Would appreciate any response as I am somewhat grey when it applies to a delta feeder.

Recommended for you

500,000 VA / 2400 Volts / 1.73 = 120.3 Amps per phase. The Amps per winding will be less but that does not concern feeder sizing.
