cable with initial stress ???????

What kind of elements are the best to model cable with interial stress? When I use the truss elements I see : "Too many attempts for this increment " and the same with beam hybrid. And when I use "standard" beam all works? But can I model a cable by beam...?

You can use truss elements.
The truss elements have no transverse stiffness, and in order to simulate a cable and avoid non-convergence you need to preload it axially.
This is a 2 step analysis.
In the first step you apply a small axial loading.
In the second step, you deactivate the axial loading and
apply the transverse loading.
Because the cable will have large transversal displacements be sure to:
-set NLGEOM on
-set a small initial time increment for the second step.
