Calculate a 'double grid'?

Hi folks.

Here's a head scratcher...
I've been tasked with verifying hydraulics for a system a contractor installed in a storage warehouse.
See attached and note the 'double grid' he created by running another 'cross' main down the middle of the grid. The grid generation function of my software sure as hell won't build this and I can't even logically determine where to start with the remote area to put the data in manually. The heads used were the CMSA storage sprinklers which require a min. of 10 psi and 15 heads in the remote design area.

Any suggestions???

HASS won't generate the three main grid either but what I have done in the past is generate my remote grid, have HASS put a node at the top of the riser nipple and then build the second grid a piece at a time.

Doing it this way the grid will peak but it is time consuming so I haven't done a whole lot of them.

I would not say it is uncommon to see these types of systems. When we have situations like this with long branch lines and relatively short mains, it makes sense to feed the system this way. I was unaware that the current calc programs would not do this type of system. I know that HydraCalc and AutoSprink will do them without issue.

I think I am going to look at a new program. Would love to get Autosprink but who the hell has time for a week in Vegas to attend their mandatory training?

I understand the training can be difficult to arrange. But, I can say that I have doubled my production over other programs since moving to AutoSprink.

Yeah I can imagine the productivity and functionality.
I did the live 'webinar' demo of the program with a MEPCAD representative a few months back and it near blew my mind!

Based on what everyone has said I am going to go ahead and get AutoSprink!

They have a one week class middle of October in South Carolina so no Las Vegas for me.
