Calculate electric bars 2

Is there any body can tell me where can I find information about electric and mechanical efforts in the electric bars of a transformation center. I found some information of SF6 but I need more about other ways of isolating and even if there are programs or equations to set the layout of the bars and overcome the mechanical efforts of the electrical faults.

It´s to get some information for my end of career project so I'd thank any recommendation to bibliography or web.

There are several great references on the mechanical effects on bus structures due to short circuit currents. These references are:

-C. H. Van Asperen, AIEE Toronto Section Meeting of November 5, 1922, "Mechanical Forces on Busbars Under Short-Circuit Conditions" This paper was awarded the "First Paper Prize" for the year ,1922, by the AIEE. The paper is technical in nature and also discusses the predictions of theory with labortory tests.

This publication presents several nomograms useful for bus design and I find it most useful when evaluating the existing short circuit bracing on bus structures.

-Book by ALCOA, Alcoa Aluminum Bus Conductor Handbook,Copyright 1957. Chapter 6 "Short-Circuit Conditions" covers this topic and lists other references, some of those mention above and others.

 
Suggestions: Try to see practical aspects over manufacturers and industry standards too:
1. Go to
find companies which manufacture buses, e.g. Siemens, Cutler Hammer, Westinghouse, Busway Systems, etc. and ask them for engineering/design literature which is usually helpful for applications.
2. Try libraries for literature, e.g.
2a. Standard Handbook for Electrical Engineers
2b. IEEE Standards 141, 241, 242, 605, C37.20.1, C37.20.2, C37.20.3, etc.
2c. NEMA Standard BU1
2d. ANSI/UL Standard 857
