Hi everyone,
I'm currently designing a waste water treatment of a plant that manufactures interferons. This is the last process I need to design and I am done! yay.
I have decided to use an activated sludge system and I need to work out the Biochemical Oxygen Demand levels in the influent and efluent streams.
I have several waste water streams coming out of various units throughout the system which I will be combing into one stream that contains loads of components such as:Yeast extract, Pepton, Glycerol, Phosphoric acid, Calcium Sulphate, Ammonium Sulphate, Sodium Azide and various others.
The equation I'm planning to use for the BOD is BOD=(Di-Df)/P . I'm having trouble calculating the dissolved oxygen for the organic matter substrates in the influent stream.
Also if anyone known where I could find any similar designs of this that have been done please let me know.
Thanks a lot!
