Calculating Sand / Solid Settling Flowrates in Multiphase flow

Hi all,

Need to do some calculations on minimum flowrates in a multiphase subsea flowline during normal production and after well cleanup. I am looking for flowrates that will be sufficient to effectively "sweep" the flowline of particles. The reason I mention the two scenarios (well cleanup vs. normal operation) is that the size distribution will clearly be significantly different.

Now I am fairly well versed in calculation of sedimenting velocities in single phase (liquid) flow for horizontal and inclined pipes, but how does this differ when there is a gas pahse present? Are there any modifications or hints you can give as to how to best allow for sedimentation / transport of solids in Oil/Water/Gas flowlines from a well (GOR typically 250-3000Sm3/Sm3, WC about 10%)

Any input at all would be appreciated!
