Hi All,

The more I delve into Inventor the more I'm surprised at what it can do so I was wondering if Inventor can calculate the downward force/weight at a given point.

For instance, take a belt driven centrifugal fan on a steel sub frame. It is required to calculate the weight exerted at each corner of the frame so that the correct anti-vibration mount can be selected.

Do you have Inventor version with FEA or Dynamic Simulation?
(Inventor Professional or Inventor Analysis)

Hi rollupswx,

I have Inventor Professional Suite 2011. There are 7 disks in the package plus Fusion Technology Preview & Vault 2011 disks.

After checking the tabs I find that I have got Dynamic Simulation.

I'm slowly going through the various tutorials but for now I need to get some starting advice on this part of the program, if you would be so kind.

Also in passing, can you offer some suggestions of text books for Inventor 2011.

Best Rgds,
Dave R.

Hi rollupswx,

Thanks for that. I have looked at those books on Amazon but did not know which to get. I also had a look at the classroom video, although way above my level, it was enjoyable to watch and see other aspects of Inventor.

Thanks again.

Best Rgds,
Dave R.
