Hello,

Does anyone have a full and detailed example for driven precast concrete pile ?

Thank you

There is something not clear for me in the ACI 543.
Should I verify the following:

1.4D + 1.6L < Øc x Pa

These ACI tables are related to the structural capacity of the pile. You will need to look at the geotechnical capacity which typically controls unless you are installing piles to rock. Take a look at the references that PEinc is suggesting.

In fact, for the last post, I was talking about reinforced concrete structural capacity of the pile.
The formula given for Pa seems too conservative for me, especially by adding the reduction factor Ø.
I have looked for the reference suggested by PEinc, and I have found the usual calcumlation of the nominal capacity of ACI 318.

Some of the difference seems to be that ACI 543 appears to work in terms of allowable service loads, while ACI 318 uses LRFD loads.

The name is a long story -- just call me Lo.

Yes of course PEinc. For the last post, I was looking for the structural capacity.

The problem is that ACI 543 is often referring to ACI 318. The use of table 4.3.3 is not clear for me.

Hi Hamza
In finding the pile capacity of a driven pile, I use a dynamic formula i.e. Hiley formula, so you have to know several parameter such as: the hammer weight, falling height, hammer efficiency, setting and rebound value.
It will be useful if you can conduct a pile loading test.

Hi Lok, thank you.
A pile loading test is planned. Here is the specification that we have prepared.
Nut the structural capacity of reinforced concrete is not very clear, is it exactly the same as per ACI318, or there is other considerations to take into account ?
