Hey Guys,

If someone was asking you to check the fasteners for wood furring strips/cement panel siding what would you be checking exactly? Just the withdrawal from wind and the weight of the material? In this case, it's nails.

It depends. Is this a delegated design? What part of the system is 'yours' to design? If the furring and backup framing is defined by others you would stop at the fastener. I would think the panels themselves would be part of the analysis?

Just the fastener @structsu10 I guess my question is what exactly would you include with this. Just withdrawal calculations and state spacing of nails? Not really sure how these things usually work

Spacing, minimum embedment, edge distance for the furring strips and into the back-up material.
