Calibration engineers in Canada

Hello,

I've been working as a calibration engineer at Bosch. I've decided to move to Canada and acquired work & resident permits.
I've been searching for calibration engineer positions but there are so few of them in Canada.
How is the job market in automotive industry at the moment?
Unfortunately I don't have any connections over there; I'd appreciate any tips that might help me.

Canada has a very small automotive product development community, because it is only a hop over the border from Detroit.

"Calibration engineer" ... calibration of what?

There are a number of large automotive suppliers with international operations that are either based in Canada or have significant operations in Canada. Magna is the obvious one. Multimatic, Linamar, Stackpole, Kirchhoff come to mind, and there are many, many others. Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) builds snowmobiles and the Can-Am Spyder in Quebec. Multimatic builds the Ford GT here, and a lot of the development and testing for that car was done in Canada, and in particular at Calabogie Motorsports Park. Major auto manufacturers do cold-weather testing in northern Ontario.

Sorry, no connections to OEM development divisions. I'm involved in automated welding and assembly operations. The parts are already designed by the time they get to us.

There were some CNG/propane companies doing calibration work up there. Two companies that I can think of were in Kitchener, Ontario, and Edmonton, Alberta. Do you know what area of Canada you are looking to relocate to?
