Need some feedback.

Has anyone heard of or used this video offered by CalGeo.

It is the old class that was heald at Berkeley by some top-notch professors. The class is no longer heald but it is on DVD for $295.

I took the exam (pretty tough) and almost passed so this may be enough but looking for some feedback?

Thanks and cheers to 2016

I am planning to take the exam next year. How tough was it? In your opinion what were the concentration areas of the exam? Any good reference books to bring to the exam? Any other information about the exam will be appreciated. Thanks!

It is tough and dials in on the notorious breadth and depth board nomenclature which covers everything and deeply. I am sure like the PE they have a half dozen variations of questions each of which they paid $1000s or more to develop so for me to 'leak' any info may get me executed guillotine style.

But I will tell you this. If you have a passion for this career, use the time to study what you feel will best fit your career and what you are most interested in, and this way you succeed with any outcome. Then when you take it you can get a feel for what they are expecting you to know and hone in on these areas.

I am now looking forward to the RGE Videos offered by top-notch professors on 10+ different subject areas (back to school for me, maybe even a tax write off). After I posted the above I spoke with an old colleague and they had very positive things to say regarding the course that the material that comes with it, all at a low cost of $295. I think when I took the PE course it was 10 Saturdays for $300 or $400 and that was about 10 years ago, so not a bad deal.

Thanks for the info. There is a list of reference books in the California exam website. Do you feel that all these references are needed during the exam? Anyway, will try to look at study materials and let you know if find anything useful. When are you planning to take the exam again?

I took about 15 reference books to the exam, very similar to the ones listed as they might have newer editions or something, and used each one. As for taking it again you can take it once a year at any time, so maybe mid-year as soon as I catch my breath, and devise a study plan, and take care of some other issues. It's a lot (of fun).

Good luck, and get the DVDs from CalGeo

Good luck to you too and post again here after take the exam... Will check the Calgeo DVDs...
