I am studying for the California Seismic exam for registration as a P.E. I have failed the test a couple times even after taking a review course. Is there someone out there that I could bounce some questions off if I get hung up in my studies. Please don't refer me to exam prep. classes. It has been my experience that they do not work for me.
My first question relates to factored loads. I don't know when to apply them to a given solution. Do I only have to apply the factored loads to design or analyze members of a structure? And if so, will the test question tell me if I'm supposed to use ASD or Strength Design?
